Alan Judson, of Alan Judson and Associates, Architects,
has completed many public and private new building projects over
the past twenty years, as well as numerous restorations and remodelings,
with a strong background in public and private education projects.
Alan has also provided clients with building evaluation and estimating
as a component of modernizations, rehabilitations, and master
planning of existing religious, educational, and institutional
facilities.
The change from working as a principal
in Gillis-Judson-Wade, Architects, to Alan Judson and Associates
has also meant a change in office structure. Alan has established
a close collaborative relationship with several architects who are
independent businesses, but who outsource work to each other as
their workloads dictate. The phrase, "virtual office,"
has been used to describe this networking of computers by e-mail.
Alan's key associate in this endeavor is Larry Mortimer of Kahn
/ Mortimer Associates located in Oakland. This informal partnership
produced the construction documentation for the new Sacred Heart
Church at 40th and Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Oakland, valued
at $1,369,000 (dedicated on Easter Sunday 1999), and full architectural
services for the Loma Vista Elementary School in Brentwood, California,
valued at $6 million, among other projects.
Alan Judson and Associates' primary
strengths result from the fact that the principal architect is involved
in the day-to-day, 'hands-on,' direction of the projects. All too
often, where large design firms are concerned, client contact is
delegated to the first available associate after the contract is
signed. Your primary contact will be with Alan from start to finish.
