DesignDesign is a process that starts with a program of the clients requirements for types and sizes of interior spaces, intended functions and desired appearance. The architect takes these elements and develops a schematic plan that describes how the spaces relate to one another and some very general ideas of how the building might appear. Through trial and error, a prevailing concept emerges. Next, this concept is developed into a set of preliminary drawings, that describe how the various spaces function, how they furnished and finished, and how the building or buildings look seen from a distance. Utilizing 3 dimensional tools, we have capability to fly over, walk around and walk through designs, allowing the client to experience aspects of the space before it is built.Construction DocumentationOnce the final design is agreed upon, we prepare, the drawings, specification and other documents necessary for the project to be constructed. AdministrationEach project begins with building evaluation, then advance to master planning, design, construction documentation and finally culminates in the construction of the project. The Architect has been the prime consultant to the Client to this point, and it is it essential that the Architect be the prime administrator of the construction phase. His rol continues to be vital in making the necessary interpretations of the documents and advising the Client on the many decisions that are inevitable when two dimensional documents are used to construct a three dimensional result, over a segment of time.
Services
Building EvaluationIt is not uncommon that, during the life span of a building, a client wishes to have a property evaluated for suitability for remodeling, addion or purchase. A full assessment of a facility can and should include the structure, the roof, exterior, finishes, hardware, signal system, HVAC system, building code compliance, lighting and energy efficiency. Most evaluations are presented ina written narrative form with a discussion of the major element, noting any recommended maintenance issues, upgrades, or building code issues.Master PlanningAll projects, benefit from the creation of, or review of a master plan. Simstated a master plan is a scheme for the ultimate development of the site. It is necessary for a single family residence or a 10 -acre development on an urban site. The master plan will define the locations of buildings, automotive and pedestriian access to the site, open space, view corridors, and parking. The document is a subject of periodic reevaluation and modification, as the needs and desires of the client evolve.DesignDesign is a process that starts with a program of the clients requirements for types and sizes of interior spaces, intended functions and desired appearance.
